Cycle bridge over the Vlára River

Subject of the contract:

Steel Structure Fabrication and Installation

The proposed footbridge spans an existing watercourse, a newly designed cycling route which descends from the bridge and subsequently passes underneath it, as well as an existing ford for heavy equipment located directly within the river channel. The bridge is designed as a single-span steel truss structure. The clear width of the deck for traffic is 2.5 m, with an overall width of 3.1 m and a total length of 49 m. The main truss girders have an overall structural depth of 4,200 mm. The cross-section of the bridge is of a closed arrangement due to the positioning of the upper bracing within the structure. The bridge also features longitudinal bracing beneath the deck. The main girders are connected via distribution plates to steel plates anchored to elastomeric bearings using bolted connections, allowing for easier bearing replacement if required.
