Cycling Footbridge over the Vlára River

Subject of the contract:

Steel Structure Fabrication and Installation

The proposed cycling footbridge spans the existing Vlára River watercourse, as well as a newly designed cycling route that connects to the bridge and continues beneath its structure. It also crosses an existing ford used by heavy machinery directly within the riverbed.
The footbridge is designed as a single-span steel truss structure with a total length of 49 m. The clear width of the cycling path is 2.5 m, while the total structural width is 3.1 m. The main truss girders have a structural depth of 4200 mm, and the cross-section is of a closed configuration due to the upper bracing system.
The structure is equipped with under-deck longitudinal bracing. The main girders are connected via distribution plates to steel plates fixed to elastomeric bearings using bolted connections, allowing for easier future bearing replacement.
