On the project “Railway bridge over road III/018149 and the Rakovec stream”, our company participated in the execution of the steel structure of a significant railway bridge, which is part of the modernization of the Žilina – Košice railway line in the section between Liptovský Mikuláš and Poprad-Tatry. The bridge is located near the municipality of Lučivná and belongs among the most important bridge structures on this modernized railway section.
Technically, it is an impressive structure with a total length of approximately 193 meters, carrying the railway line over a valley, road III/018149, and the Rakovec stream. The structure was designed to meet the high demands of modern railway transport, including improved safety, structural stability, and operational reliability.
The project represents another significant milestone in our portfolio and contributes to the modernization of Slovakia’s strategic railway infrastructure. Its execution confirms our long-standing experience in delivering complex steel bridge structures.
The bridge is a six-span structure with an upper deck and continuous ballast track. Each track is supported by a separate load-bearing structure. The main girders are mutually separated by a covered expansion joint and are composite steel–concrete structures. The bridge structure is supported on piers and abutments via pot bearings. The abutments and piers are reinforced concrete monolithic structures founded on deep foundations using large-diameter bored piles.
