Construction: “Modernisation of the Žilina – Košice Railway Line, section Liptovský Mikuláš – Poprad-Tatry, Phase 1”
The purpose of the bridge is to carry a double-track railway line with a design speed of 160 km/h over the Poprad River. The new bridge consists of two steel superstructures with ballasted track and an upper deck system. The track design speed on the bridge is 160 km/h. The bridge carries two main tracks with a mutual spacing of 5.0 m.
At the bridge location, the railway runs on an embankment approximately 2.0 m high. Each track is carried by a separate steel plate girder structure with an orthotropic deck. The superstructure is divided into erection segments. Assembly and workshop joints are welded.
